Winter Warm-up

Supporting households to become more energy efficient with customised advice and support.

There are many improvements that can be made around the home, some quick and easy and others with more up-front costs. But knowing where to start and finding the time can be hard. That is why TRB is offering free home energy efficiency inspections, undertaken by trained volunteers, with training of TRB volunteers funded from an Indigo Shire Council Community Sustainability Grant.

We all know that rising energy costs are contributing to cost-of-living increases and the use of carbon fuels to make electricity contributes to global warming.  Winter is a reminder that an energy efficient home is cheaper and easier to heat and is more comfortable in both winter and summer.

TRB is offering free home energy inspections and provide the funds for several lucky households to implement the customised advice provided. This will help make their homes warmer, less reliant on carbon intensive fossil fuels and save on energy costs. Actions funded could include removing gas, installing heat pump heating and or water heaters, insulation and draught proofing.

Funding opportunities are:

Winter Warm-up for young families – TRB will spend up to $2,500 for four young families to implement inspection recommendations. TRB is using the $10,000 awarded by Indigo Power under its community give-back obligation. We are seeking homes with good demonstration potential and families that are willing to share their journeys via TRB’s social media to show others how it can be done.

Winter Warm-up for tenants – TRB will spend up to $1,500 for two tenants (excluding public housing tenants) to implement report recommendations. TRB will liaise with landlords and may seek a landlord contribution. Funding has been provided by a $3,000 Border Trust grant.

Applications for a home energy efficiency inspection or either of the above funding close on 30 September 2024. To apply please provide the following information. A TRB member will contact you to arrange your inspection.
